Our service model is based on years of training with the Nordstrom philosophy, as well as inspired by Disney Institute principles, whereby we are dedicated to the client and guest experience, which includes a full, detailed working knowledge of events in the planning and execution phase, as well as implementing some magic during the planning stage and “day-of”. Furthermore, our work experience includes years as a Director of Catering and Weddings in the hospitality industry, so we “get” the backbone of successful events from having been in the actual trenches.

Santa Barbara Wine Country Weddings & Events CEO/Founder Kerry Lee (Dickey) Doehr is a 3rd generation Santa Barbaran with roots. Her Great Grandfather was one of the stagecoach drivers connecting the Santa Ynez Valley with Santa Barbara, her Great Uncle was a locally-renowned “water witch”, who helped authorities find where to drill for Lake Cachuma. Her grandfather Reg Kerry owned and operated several Santa Barbara restaurants, served as Police Commissioner, Rotarian and more. Their family homes from the Sansum Estate to their custom-built home on Channel Drive next door to the Santa Barbara Four Seasons Biltmore afforded a wonderful life of entertaining guests and this love of entertaining and caring for guests was instilled in Kerry Lee at a very early age.  Reg Kerry’s  love of community and service inspired his granddaughter Kerry Lee and opened doors for her to continue the Kerry legacy in her own Santa Barbara business.

With over 600 weddings’ experience dedicated to Santa Barbara and its own wine country, The Santa Ynez Valley, Certified Wedding Professional Kerry Lee (Dickey) Doehr has become one of the area’s most reputable and sought-after wedding and event planners. Her referrals to the event supply partners who hold the same service standards as well as her commitment to industry ethics, including not accepting any kick-backs whatsoever from any event supply partner make her one of the most trusted wedding planning resources locally and nationally.

Beyond her reputation as a wedding planner, Kerry Lee has also become known as a trail-blazer in the events industry as an entrepreneur . From founding the first ever known “faux wedding” (the Mobile Wedding Planning Experience/Mobile Bridal Faire) in 2004, earning the attention of the prestigious Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine for an exclusive service category, as well as the Texas Board of Tourism, who actively pursued her wanting to know how they, too, could duplicate this model for their own destination wedding stream; to other innovations such as Wine With a Wedding Planner,   The Groom’s Lounge,   Gentlemen’s Bootcamp and more.

Over the years, Kerry Lee has served on retainer by invitation as the exclusive event planner for the original “horse whisperer” himself, Monty Roberts, handling his corporate event program, which hosted international, luxury VIP clientele including Mercedes Benz and more to 10 years of service to national wedding celebrity author/designer and entrepreneur Beverly Clark Enterprises, supporting marketing and travel efforts for all her dot com ventures, where many international event contacts were made and still maintained to this day.

From international speaking engagements with 14,000 attendees in Las Vegas, Nevada to all over the nation, Kerry Lee is regularly invited to address the topics that today’s industry professionals face: from ethics, service and how to generate more revenue to creating successful marketing plans, secrets of social media for the hospitality and wedding industries to co-writing and developing a training program for the events industry as the Vice President of Marketing and Training for ASEP (Academy of Special Event Professionals), where she has trained wedding and event professionals from entities such as Ritz Carlton, Hyatt, Sheraton and many more.

Even the Associates who comprise the Santa Barbara Wine Country Weddings & Events team are made up of those with extensive experience in the events industry, including and especially those skilled at servicing high profile clientele and who have held positions within the events industry as Event Managers for high-profile locations, caterers and even many years as a personal assistant to a Hollywood legend.

After over 600 weddings, Kerry Lee is enjoying the luxury of choosing her wedding clientele and now takes a limited number of wedding bookings annually.  When not planning weddings, she stays busy with her other division  Engaging Inspiration consulting with wedding venues & businesses on their marketing initiatives, training their staff, giving speaking engagements and workshops as well as always continuing to learn and grow so she can develop new and inspiring ways of doing business to help keep this industry fresh.

Her number one passion above all, however, remains her family, followed by travel (having lived in Paris, France), regularly teaching a dance fitness class (she is a certified dance fitness instructor and gets her cardio and strength-training on daily), the performing arts (she has a background in musical theater) and all things Walt Disney.
